With the international break in full swing, Celtic fans will get to see their heroes pit themselves against some of the world’s best players.
Kasper Schmeichel will face Cristiano Ronaldo as the Celtic icon captains Denmark for the big NAtions League quarter-final double-header.
Celtic also have Anthony Ralston and Greg Taylor on duty with Scotland as well as the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers with the USA.
But all eyes were on Japan this morning where Celtic heroes Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi were all called up to face Bahrain for their World Cup qualifier.
And it seems, once again, that all three have had their time wasted after Hajime Moriyasu’sside struggled to a 2-0 win at the Saitama Stadium.

Celtic’s Reo Hatate & Daizen Maeda unused Japan subs as Kyogo goes missing
Kyogo got the Japan call despite his lack of minutes at Rennes alongside Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.
However, despite the form of Maeda and Hatate, the Celtic duo were both unused subs as Japan struggled to break down a team ranked 81st in the FIFA rankings.
However, for Kyogo, his Japan fate was much worse. The former Hoops striker was omitted from the whole matchday squad as Kyogo’s post-Celtic exit continues to go from bad to worse.
The last time Celtic duo Reo Hatate & Daizen Maeda starred for Japan
Maeda currently has 22 caps to his name and four goals to his international tally.
The last time the Celtic winger appeared for Japan was a six-minute appearance from the bench against China in their last fixture in the November international break.
Prior to that, Maeda got just 45 minutes in the 4-0 win over Indonesia. In the last eight Japan internationals, the Hoops winger stayed on the bench twice and was left out of the matchday squad a further two times despite travelling all the way to the Far East when the call came.
As for Hatate, he has struggled to add to his 10 caps after gaining just 56 minutes of football from the last four international breaks.
It seems that Moriyasu is completely wasting Celtic’s and both players’ time at such a crucial part of the season when Brendan Rodgers is chasing another treble.
