Former Lazio star Bruno Giordano is the latest name to come out and speak about Celtic.
Giordani, a top striker in the 1970s and 1980s, is revealing some in depth analysis to his former side. He is Rome born and bred and clearly wants his side to come out on top.
The 13-time Italian international believes that Celtic’s engine is the biggest test Lazio will face.
Bruno Giordani weighs up Lazio’s chance against Celtic
Lazio face off against Celtic in the first match between the two in the Europa League group.
Celtic are surprise early league leaders by a point ahead of the tie at Parkhead on Thursday.
The Hoops are on winning form following a 6-0 thrashing of Ross County at Celtic Park. Lazio are less so with their last two matches being draws.
Nevertheless, Giordano is impressed with what he has seen so far from the Scottish Premiership champions.
He told Radio Sei yesterday: “With Celtic you have to run.
“They don’t have an important technique, but crazy rhythms and Lazio must show that it knows how to keep European rhythms.
“They will attack you across the pitch, it will be a good test that Lazio must overcome if it wants to do well in this competition.”
Hoops have the players to play to Lazio legend’s predictions
Giordano is right to be fearful of the Hoops’ stamina when it comes to the game on Thursday. This is a very fit team who are more than familiar with playing a lot of football every week.
Players that will be key to demonstrating Giordano’s worries are Ryan Christie, James Forrest and Mohamed Elyounoussi.
Callum McGregor is another in the engine room who will be running box to box. Let’s also not forget the likes of Boli Bolingoli who will be striding up and down the flanks.
However, Lazio are no mugs and will be littered with top class fit players. Nevertheless, the Celts must use every advantage at their disposal to win the game.
