Liverpool supporters jealous of fantastic new song for Celtic star Jota

Yesterday, we told you about the brilliant new chant for Celtic star Jota, and it’s already catching admiring glances from Liverpool fans.

You see, Liverpool have a Jota of their own. Goal-scorer Diogo Jota has chipped in with 12 goals and 2 assists in 26 games for the Reds this season [Transfermarkt]. All fine and well for the Portuguese striker. But his hair is inferior, and he doesn’t have a song in his honour to the tune of ‘Dragostea din Tei’ by O-Zone.

Celtic fans have an anxious wait to see whether our Jota will sign permanently. So, in the meantime, the new chant has been a huge hit on Twitter, and is inspiring jealous glances from England.

Liverpool, of course, have a history of great terrace chants. In recent years, “Allez Allez Allez” has been an Anfield favourite. Their version of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ is, like ours, world-famous. However, we have undoubtedly beaten them to the punch here.

Just as Crystal Palace tried to get ‘I Wanna Be Edouard’ going in Croydon, will another Premier League team attempt to wholesale nick a new Celtic song?

We’ll find out, but judging from Twitter, the agenda seems absolutely clear…

Liverpool fans left in awe by Celtic Jota song

Liverpool supporters clearly latched on to this new Celtic song quickly. Some of the more brazen takes suggest the Reds just lift the tune wholesale.

Others are simply showing their appreciation.

Hopefully, our Jota will be around at Celtic long enough for a songbook. The fans absolutely adore him, and his play for the Hoops has been exceptional.
