Luis Palma is preparing for two massive games over the October international break.
Palma is one of 10 Celtic players on international duty in October, where many are fighting to book their nation’s place at the 2026 World Cup.
The Honduras star has been in great form for Lech Poznan of late and has made the lengthy journey to his homeland ahead of games against Costa Rica and Haiti.
Honduras haven’t qualified for a World Cup since 2014 but currently top their CONCACAF qualifying group, and a win would put them in pole position to reach the finals.
However, Palma isn’t feeling as confident as you would expect.

This game could be the one that determines who advances through to the finals, and confidence is key.
While you would expect Honduras to be confident, Palma thinks that Costa Rica have the upper hand due to their previous World Cup experience.
They’re the team with the most World Cups, they also have good players, and we’re going to prepare to get the three points here at home,” the 25-year-old told La Tribuna.
“These two home games are important and we have to win. We’re only thinking about the national team and getting the three points because that would be an important step toward qualifying for the World Cup.”
Luis Palma fit to play both games for Honduras
There were some concerns and worries before Palma arrived relating to his fitness.
Poland to Honduras is a long flight, but the winger has stressed that he is ready to play and fitter than ever.
“I’m fine, thank God, no injuries, just tiredness after a match. 48 hours have clearly passed since the trip, but that’s not an excuse. I’m here to work and give my best,” he concluded.
