Luis Palma is close to becoming a Lech Poznan player after reports confirmed the winger would be on the move.

Footage of Palma arriving in Poland to join his new club emerged at the weekend to finalise a season-long loan.

Lech Poznan have an option to buy Palma for £4.5m in the summer and it will be a fresh start for the winger.

Palma had been training with his boyhood club in Honduras and it’s unlikely that we will see him in a Celtic shirt again.

Luis Palma chose to leave Celtic

Brendan Rodgers clearly didn’t think that the 25-year-old was part of his plans going forward but Palma admitted that it was his decision to head to the Polish giants.

“I am very happy with the move,” he said when arriving in Poznan.

“I’m delighted to be joining my new club and it was all done very quickly.

“I spoke with Celtic and it was my decision to look elsewhere.

“I don’t know too much about the Polish League, except that it’s a good league, with big stadiums and big clubs.

“I am going to learn a lot about football there.”

The clubs Luis Palma turned down to join Lech Poznan

Palma had a miserable loan spell at Olympiacos last season and only featured eight times so needed his new move to be the right one.

Remaining in Europe seemed a priority for the 25-year-old and according to the Glasgow Times, he turned down several teams.

Clubs in England, Turkey and the USA, all reportedly made approaches for the winger but Poznan is his final destination and a new chapter begins.
