Luis Palma looks set to leave Celtic on loan for the second season in a row.
Palma has struggled to maintain the form he showed for Celtic in the early days of his 2023 summer move but has dropped out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
The Celtic winger spent a season on loan at Olympiacos last season as Palma helped the Greek side win the title.
Now back at Celtic but not part of the pre-season tour, it looks like the Honduran international is set for another temporary move away as details emerge of how much the Parkhead club want for Palma.

Celtic want ‘very high’ fee with Luis Palma loan exit ‘close’
Celtic paid £3.5m for Palma just under two years ago from Greek side Aris. Since then he has scored 10 goals and created 10 assists.
However, barely featuring over the last 18 months, it appears the Hoops value Palma higher than the price they paid as journalist Sebastian Staszewski reveals the details of the move.
Staszewski posted on X, “Luis Palma is close to joining Lech Poznan. The Celtic winger could move to Poznań on a one-year loan.
“Talks are ongoing. If it goes through, it’ll be a big deal, as Palma is a top-tier player.
“The agreement is expected to include a VERY HIGH buyout clause (around €4.5 million).”
At today’s exchange rate, that would mean Celtic want just over £3.8m for Palma which would net the Parkhead club a small profit on the out-of-favour attacker.
Why Luis Palma has struggled at Celtic
Not too long ago, Palma confessed that he found the step up in quality from Greek football to Celtic ‘incredible’.
Palma said, “Well, I noticed it in Greece [the step up in quality], because that’s when I left Honduras directly for Greece.
“I went to Aris Thessaloniki and saw the kind of pace they played there. And then when I went to Scotland, to Celtic, playing in the Champions League was incredible, and you realize the pace there is in both Central America and Europe.
“The truth is, we’re very far from that elite, but as I said, I hope that in the future we won’t be so far away.”
Hopefully, if this move does go through, Palma does well and earns a permanent move away from Celtic because it looks increasingly clear that his time at Parkhead is up.
