Luis Palma has fully bought into the Celtic mentality after his starring role off the bench in Saturday’s dramatic win over Motherwell at Fir Park.
Palma was introduced into the match in the 77th minute with the scoreline deadlocked at 0-0. He immediately added an attacking threat and it was his effort a few minutes from time that sent Celtic 1-0 up.
Chaos followed, with Motherwell equalising in stoppage time before Matt O’Riley fired home at 2-1 with the last kick off the ball. And that win at all costs attitude is something Palma loves.
He said on Instagram tonight: “NEVER GIVE UP!!!💚🍀🤍 Well done guys💪🏼🤌🏼”
Matt O’Riley, Liel Abada and Joe Hart were all among those in the comments wishing him well.
Today’s effort from the Honduran was his first in Celtic colours. It hopefully provides the platform for him to push on and perform more consistently in Brendan Rodgers’ set-up.
He’s certainly played his way into contention to start against Lazio on Wednesday night. It would be no surprise to see the player in the manager’s team, providing a dual threat on the flanks with Daizen Maeda.
Palma was signed to score goals and to add creativity to the Celtic attack. There were signs he could do both today in a high-pressure situation.
Everyone is looking forward to seeing how he develops his Bhoys career from here. He’s a player fully enjoying his big move from Greek football this summer, and this is just the beginning.
In other news, Meltdown at Ibrox as Rangers are embarrassed and Matt O’Riley magic surges Celtic clear.
