It’s fair to say that Luis Palma isn’t Celtic’s top priority at the minute.
The Hoops have enough on their plate with the Premier Sports Cup final approaching on Sunday, with Wilfried Nancy still in search of his first win.
It was however reported that Nancy was considering recalling Palma last month, in a surprise update from Honduras.
That claim has since been debunked, with Palma enjoying life at Lech Poznan in Poland, who he joined on loan in the summer with an option to buy.
But the latest report from Poland indicates that the situation has taken another twist.
Celtic man Luis Palma ‘reconsidered’ at Lech Poznan
Palma has moved to a new role at the Polish side, operating more centrally.
He has racked up ten goal contributions since his move, with the side currently sitting in the qualification spots in the Conference League.

But he may need to do more than that if he is to earn a permanent move to the Ekstraklasa side.
PiłkaNożna report that on Polish TV, journalist Dawid Dobrasz said that he’s ‘heard’ that Palma’s position has been reconsidered, and he will ‘need to show even more’ if Lech are to make the move permanent.
The buy option is said to be worth 4.5 million Euros, meaning that Palma would become the club’s record transfer if they were to pay the fee.
This would also return Celtic a small profit on the £3.5 million that they paid to bring him from Aris Thessaloniki in 2023.
It’s understandable, therefore, that Lech are treading carefully and not rushing a signing that would demand such a large chunk of their resources.
This is Palma’s second loan move away from Celtic – he spent six months on loan at Greek giants Olympiacos at the back end of last season, barely getting a kick.
Regardless of the outcome in Poland, it certainly seems unlikely that Palma will play for Celtic again.

Celtic’s other players out on loan
Maik Nawrocki, also signed in the summer of 2023, is out on loan at Hannover 96 in Germany – his recent performances have impressed… Celtic could do with a right-footed centre back, you know…
Less likely to be seen again at Celtic is Odin Thiago Holm, who has made just five appearances in MLS this year for LAFC amid a battle with a rare calf condition.
Stephen Welsh and Adam Montgomery are both out on loan elsewhere in the Scottish Premiership – the former is impressing at Motherwell, but the latter has been out for two months with injury.
Kyle Ure, Jude Bonnar and Sean McArdle are among the Celtic youngsters currently out on loan in the second tier.
