Luke McCowan is living every Celtic fan’s dream right now.
The midfielder joined his boyhood club from Dundee last summer in a £1million deal and it was one that flew under the radar in comparison the Arne Engels’ £11m record Celtic transfer from Augsburg.
McCowan, 27, has since played 40 times for the Hoops and scored nine times, providing 13 assists in what has been a really strong maiden season in Glasgow.
With the Scottish Premiership trophy almost sewn up by Celtic, McCowan will win his first league title in the top flight in what will be a proud moment for the Scotland international hopeful.

Luke McCowan says winning title with Celtic would ‘make him greet’
McCowan understands how important the silverware is to Celts having grown up idolising the squad. And, reflecting on his career before Parkhead at Dens Park and Ayr United, the playmaker has explained how he expects to be teary-eyed when he gets his hands on the trophy.
Asked by Celtic TV how special it would be, McCowan chuckled: “Aye, I’d probably be greetin’ if I’m honest, mate.
“It’s a bit mad and silly to say but I wouldn’t ever have thought it would happen.
“In football you don’t ever get a chance to reflect but I’m sure if that days comes along, when it does, it’s gonna be a special moment for myself.
“My fiancee as well who’s been here with me from the very start of it. I’m sure the two of us will have our tissues ready on the pitch walking about and hopefully we can get that as soon as possible.
“It’s about pushing so that happens as soon as we can.”
McCowan says Celtic Treble would soften Rangers loss blow
McCowan was asked to discuss Celtic’s 3-2 loss to Rangers once more before surely putting it to bed and the player was honest with his disappointed assessment.
But he made sure to put things into perspective in the title ‘race’.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 30 | 24 | 3 | 3 | 89 | 20 | 69 | 75 | |
| 2 | 30 | 19 | 5 | 6 | 62 | 28 | 34 | 62 | |
| 3 | 30 | 11 | 11 | 8 | 45 | 41 | 4 | 44 | |
| 4 | 30 | 12 | 7 | 11 | 38 | 46 | -8 | 43 |
“People look at it and think if you play your rivals and get beat at home, how can a season be well? But if you come to the end of the season and hopefully have three trophies in the bag, you maybe think about that.
“Our mindset isn’t about looking at them yet it’s about getting the league over the line first and it comes after that.
“It’s a weird one to put a positive spin on it but it’s needed and I’m sure the boys will push as hard as we can to get the league done as soon as we can.”
