Pep Guardiola has raved about the career path of Ange Postecoglou and the job he did at Celtic.

The Manchester City boss will face Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur in a mouthwatering Premier League clash on Sunday.

Aside from a few defeats in recent weeks, it has been an outstanding start to life in the Premier League for the Celtic hero.

The 58-year-old has an admirer in Pep Guardiola because he spoke about ‘how good’ Ange was during his time at Celtic, as he told his pre-match press conference.

The multiple Champions League winner mentioned the Treble win last season, which in the end, proved to be the lasting memory of Ange Postecoglou’s time at Parkhead.

If Celtic thought they had it good, well, those in Manchester took it levels above and beyond by winning the ultimate Treble in world football, including a first-ever European Cup for Manchester City.

Well, ahead of the Premier League champions taking on Tottenham, the topic of Ange Postecoglou was discussed by one of the greatest coaches ever.

Ange Postecoglu at Celtic

“Every team plays for the desire of the manager,” said Guardiola. “I think he has done this in the past in Japan and, of course, in Glasgow with Celtic and now (with Tottenham).

“People like Ange make football a better place. I am a manager, and I have said this many times, at the same time I am a spectator and I enjoy a lot watching them play, the approach they have.

“Since (facing him against Yokohama) I followed him and how good he did in Glasgow with Celtic winning Trebles and winning a lot of games. And now look in a short period of time he is there.”

Ange Postecoglou’s style of play

Ever since the former Australian coach joined the Premier League, one hot topic of discussion has been the style of play.

There are attack-minded coaches, but then there are those like Ange – Neil Lennon has previously spoken about the difference between Postecoglou and now Brendan Rodgers.

Those at Celtic know all about the entertainment value that Ange provided during his time at Parkhead.

And it’s something Spurs fans are now witnessing and enjoying very much because their fans have been craving an attacking style for a long time.
