Marc Crosas tells Celtic to sign Europa League winner

Marc Crosas reckons Celtic should be looking to sign Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa League hero Rafael Santos Borre after his trophy-winning turn against Rangers.

Borre was the striker who not only netted the German side’s equaliser in Seville, but also their tournament winning penalty in the shoot-out. Quite simply, he’s the icon Frankfurt fans are celebrating today.

And former Celtic midfielder Crosas reckon the Bhoys should be looking to sign him as soon as possible, speaking on Twitter after the game.

Celtic have been linked with Borre before

As we discussed earlier, Celtic have actually been linked with the Colombian forward before, back when he was due to become a free agent following a spell at Argentinian giants River Plate.

He subsequently moved to Germany and you can’t say he’s had a bad time at all.

Unfortunately, he also has a contract with Frankfurt until 2025, so there is little chance of coming up with the money it will take to sign him now.

The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals and assisted eight more in 45 appearances this season, with six of the goal contributions coming in their Europa League run.

At the moment, Celtic are actually well-stocked for attacking options anyway with Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis having fine season.

So while it would be good fun to land Borre, I don’t think it’ll be happening any time soon!

Who knows, we could even be meeting him in the Champions League group stage next season.
