A rumour that Stevie Woods had left Celtic went viral after Craig Burley tweeted an announcement on social media.
The Celtic goalkeeping coach has been at the club since 2007 working under managers like Gordon Strachan, Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila, Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou.
Woods has won a plethora of medals at Celtic Park and has coached world-class goalkeepers like Artur Boruc, Joe Hart and Kasper Schmeichel.
What message would you send Wilfried Nancy as Celtic sack the manager?
However, it appears that rumours surrounding the legendary coach’s future at Celtic were doing the rounds not long after Wilfried Nancy’s arrival.
And now, Mark Guidi shares what Nancy thought of the coach after he was named as part of Martin O’Neill’s backroom set up until the end of the season.

Craig Burley’s message to Stevie Woods after Celtic ‘exit’
First off, rumours of Woods’ future at Celtic started back in mid-December as Nancy was forced to deny that he was on his way out of the club.
But on the day that Celtic sacked Nancy, former Hoops midfielder Craig Burley sent Woods a message on social media wishing him all the best after he apparently had left the club.
Burley said on X, “Best wishes to GK coach Stevie Woods after the announcement he’s leaving Celtic.
Not sure why, but what I can tell you he’s a top bloke, one of the best.”
It was a strange tweet that confused fans considering there was no official announcement by Celtic.
But here, Mark Guidi reveals what Nancy thought of the Celtic coach.
Wilfried Nancy ‘didn’t fancy’ Celtic coach Stevie Woods
Wilfried Nancy’s disastrous tenure at Celtic can only be summed up by this latest Stevie Woods episode. And it appears that the experienced coach was on his way out of the club.
Guidi told The Go Radio Football Show, “Obviously Dermot Desmond’s gone back to Martin O’Neill and they’ve got the team together.
“Shaun Maloney, Mark Fotheringham, Stephen McManus, Gavin Strachan and Stevie Woods as well who, I think was going to leave because Wilfried Nancy didn’t fancy him.
“So that’s all back together.”
So it appears that there were issues with Woods and Nancy but Celtic fans will be delighted that the coach remains at the club to help save this season.
