Celtic have a six-point lead over Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Brendan Rodgers’ 100% start to the domestic season continued after Celtic beat Livingston 3-0 at Parkhead on Saturday.
24 hours later, Rangers dropped more points at St Mirren in a 1-1 draw as Russell Martin’s miserable start to his domestic campaign continued.
The Rangers boss caused huge headlines after throwing his players under the bus and when asked if Russell Martin had ‘misjudged’ the Ibrox situation, Martin O’Neill delivered a brutal message for the new Govan boss.

Celtic hero Martin O’Neill tells Rangers ‘they are not very good’
O’Neill dominated Rangers during his time as the Celtic boss as he won seven domestic honours, which included a treble and a run to the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
So the former Celtic boss is well-placed to give his opinion on this current Rangers side.
O’Neill told talkSPORT, “Well, Rangers, I watched a good chunk of the game. They’re not very good Rangers.
“And they haven’t been very good for quite some considerable time. On any given day, as they proved last season, they can actually match Celtic over a 90 minute period.
“But there is absolutely no guarantee at all about them travelling away from home or even at Ibrox, winning games, and that’s been going on for some considerable time.
“It’s a difficult one. He stepped in, Russell Martin should know the situation. He’s been there as a player. So he knows the most important thing about winning.
“If winning ever applied to football clubs, is Celtic and Rangers. You’ve got to win. You’ve got to hit the ground running, because there’s a lot of doubters.”
Celtic icon Martin O’Neill says Russell Martin’s team would lose to old Rangers 12-0
Under O’Neill, Celtic battered Rangers 6-2 in the iconic derby game that saw Henrik Larsson score the goal that has become infamous the world over.
And looking at the current Rangers side compared to Dick Advocaat’s team, O’Neill got brutal once again as he told Russell Martin his team would get hammered if they faced the Dutchman’s squad.
“I got lucky in many respects, because I won the opening game of the season. In fact, I was actually asked a question before the game started.
“We played on a Sunday, my very, very first game for Celtic and Rangers had won. Rangers were a terrific side in those days, really terrific.
“And Rangers had won the opening game at Ibrox, and we were away at Dundee United, and I was asked by a journalist if we didn’t win today, that day, was that the league over.
“And that frightened the life out of me. They weren’t even expecting Rangers to drop too many points. But the Rangers side that I was up against, they would beat this Rangers side about 12-0.”
Celtic face Rangers on Sunday, but before that, Kairat Almaty must be taken care of if Brendan Rodgers wants to make the Champions League proper.
If the Celtic manager can do that, he will give the fans and the team a huge confidence boost ahead of the Ibrox Glasgow Derby this weekend.
