Martin O’Neill has reacted to Celtic’s announcement that the Green Brigade will be returning.
Earlier this week, Celtic confirmed the that the fan group would be returning to matches with immediate effect, ending a ban which has been in effect since November.
The news has been well-received by fans, with four crucial home fixtures remaining between now and the end of the season.
And O’Neill has joined in on the reaction, having been asked about the ban almost every week during his two interim spells.

On whether the return will give his team a boost, the Celtic boss said: “I think it does. Yeah, of course.
“It would be great if that’s the case. I think the safety regulations have been sorted. And I think that would give us a boost.

“Absolutely, because the support is very, very strong. And it’s great. And I would like it if that was the case, just to park things now. And let’s see what the summer brings.”
He went on to say of the support: “Well, I thought the support that we got at Dundee was fantastic, really fantastic.
“I thought they kept us going during the course of the game. They didn’t seem to be highly critical of us when we conceded the penalty, it could have dropped away.
“They kept us going. I genuinely thought that.
“So I think in terms of support, in terms of vocal support, it’s great to see them back again. But again, I think we’ve got to just see how it goes and see what the end of the season brings.

O’Neill and Celtic face St Mirren at 3 PM on Saturday, in the last game before the post-split phase of the season.
The Saints are off the back of two consecutive wins, having enjoyed a new manager bounce under the interim charge of Craig McLeish.
It’s their first visit to Celtic Park since the opening day of the current season, when the Hoops won 1-0 through a late Luke McCowan winner.
