Kieran Tierney has made his second debut for Celtic.
The left-back started for the Hoops in Lisbon as they lost 3-2 to Estrela da Amadora in the club’s third pre-season friendly of the summer.
Tierney was steady and played a number of good through passes forward to Daizen Maeda, who was deployed on the left wing.
After the game, his fellow left-sided defender Auston Trusty spoke to the Daily Record and praised Tierney’s arrival at the club.

Of course, Tierney and Trusty once shared a dressing room with each other at Arsenal, before the American moved on to Sheffield United in 2023.
Trusty was disappointed to see Greg Taylor run down his Celtic contract and sign for PAOK, but he understands that Tierney’s arrival is significant for the Bhoys.
The centre-back said: “I have known KT for a while now. I watched him at Arsenal. Greg Taylor was a big character for the team and a really, really good guy
“It’s sad that he’s moved on but KT has come in and I’m really happy about that. He has massive history with the club.
“But it’s like he’s been here the whole time. He’ll bring a lot of attributes to this team and it helps that he’s been here before.”
Did Trusty and Tierney ever play together at Arsenal?
Tierney made 144 appearances for Arsenal between 2019 and 2025, but did not play a competitive fixture alongside Trusty.
Trusty failed to make his first-team debut for the Gunners, at least in a competitive game. He did feature for the side during the 2023 pre-season tour.
That’s when Tierney and Trusty played together. Now, they’ll be hoping to forge a successful partnership on the left side of defence for Celtic.
