There seems to be a growing narrative that Rangers can emulate Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic Invincibles side this season.
Steven Gerrard’s outfit are unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership at the moment and, brutally for us, don’t look like losing to anyone anytime soon.
Let’s be honest, it would be a fair achievement if they go an entire league season without defeat.
But we know, as Celtic fans, they’ve already blown the chance to even be mentioned in the same breath as the Celtic team from 2016/17.
The Scottish Sun seem excited about that prospect, publishing an article earlier today titled on Twitter as ‘What Rangers would have to do to smash Celtic’s Invincibles record and create Scottish football history’.
It’s about the unlikely scenario of this Rangers team amassing more points in the Premiership than the famous Celtic unit.
To be fair to The Scottish Sun, they’re not the only outlet making hay out of the comparison at the moment.
Both The Daily Record and Glasgow Live have published similar recently, as Rangers fans get themselves excited about claiming an invincible season. Neil McCann also got enthusiastic about it on the BBC last month.

Celtic fans know the score
One problem though. When they were dumped out of the Betfred Cup by St Mirren, those hopes died.
Celtic didn’t just go unbeaten in the league and rack up a class points total in 2016/17 – they destroyed the competition in both national cup competitions.
There is nothing to be matched, or bettered, this season by Rangers. Simple as that.
These Celtic fans have taken to social media to make that point and push back on this silly media hype…
