Celtic fans are questioning the appointment of Wilfried Nancy after yet another defeat at the weekend.
Celtic’s defeat to St Mirren in the Premier Sports Cup final seems to have stretched the patience of a lot of Hoops supporters this week.
Nancy’s third defeat in a row at Hampden has shown that there appears to have been no lessons learned by the Celtic manager as defensive howlers and confusion cost the Bhoys the first piece of silverware of the season.

But not all the blame can be laid at Nancy’s door as Michael Gannon shares how long it took Celtic to identify the 48-year-old as the man to take over from Brendan Rodgers.
And what the Daily Record journalist said will certainly make fans question the Celtic board’s handling of Nancy’s appointment.

The Celtic board identified Wilfried Nancy six weeks ago
Celtic fans are under the impression that an extensive search was carried out to find Rodgers’ replacement.
But it seems that Nancy was always the target, just as Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson stated when he announced the Frenchman as the new boss.
Gannon told Hotline Live, “Coming in at this stage and trying to do all this in this week just looks like a crazy decision really. I mean the thing was right, and I know for a fact, Celtic approached Wilfried Nancy the same week that Rogers left.
“So we’re talking over a month ago, six weeks ago. So he’s had five weeks or four weeks to look and analyse this squad from afar and to talk to people in and around the team and the in the building.
“So he must have known that there are serious structural problems with this team and they were playing a certain way under Martin for a reason.
“Because of the problems they’ve got in terms of personnel in terms of injuries. So to be armed with all that knowledge after three weeks of sitting waiting to get the job to then come in and apply this ideology immediately just seems like a ridiculous gamble.”
The big question Celtic fans need to ask the board about Wilfried Nancy’s announcement
Brendan Rodgers tendered his Celtic resignation on the 27th of October and if Gannon’s information is correct, why did it take so long to get Nancy in?
If the former Columbus Crew manager was the number one target, why did it take so long to get terms agreed and draft Nancy in as soon as possible?
Have the Celtic board set Wilfried Nancy up to fail?
It took until the 3rd of December for the club to announce the deal which means that Nancy had to be thrown into the job in the biggest week of Celtic’s season.
It’s an absolutely baffling position Celtic found themselves in and now, it has come back to bite them in the backside.
