The Derek McInnes row over who at Celtic got under his skin continues as the Hearts boss’ embarrassing Tynecastle conduct continues to rumble on.

So far, we’ve heard how the Hearts boss admitted that an ‘inexperienced’ Celtic coach annoyed him after Benjamin Nygren put the Hoops 1-0 up at Tynecastle.

McInnes’ comments have not left the Hearts boss covered in glory, especially after footage from Celtic’s Unique Angle show him embarrassing himself on the Hearts touchline.

Derek McInnes explains petty behaviour at Benjamin Nygren’s Celtic goal.

For an experienced manager, he's easily rattled.

It’s been suggested that Mark Fotheringham may be the Celtic coach at the centre of all this, but Michael Gannon has thrown another name into the Tynecastle mix.

Celtic coach Stephen McManus named as possible McInnes ‘culprit’

Celtic have four dedicated first-team coaches assigned to support Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney for the title race.

And Gannon reckons Stephen McManus may have been a ‘culprit’ in the McInnes row.

Gannon told Hotline Live, “I’ve got culprits, but not got any names. I think the fingers are getting pointed towards Mark Fotheringham or Stephen McManus.

“One of those boys was involved. It definitely wasn’t Shaun Maloney. He was kind of ahead of the fun and games behind him, at that point.

“Listen, it wasn’t that [bad]. It’s just a bit of an argy-bargy, really. The tensions were running high at that point in time. And they were all day, in fairness. It was that kind of afternoon.”

What McInnes said about Celtic coach

McInnes, for an experienced manager, was easily wound up after Celtic’s goal and it’s clear the Hearts boss is feeling the title race heat.

When asked about the incident, McInnes said on Sky Sports, “Yeah, just one of their kind of inexperienced coaches.

“I didn’t like his reaction to scoring the goal. Nothing to do with Shaun or Martin, just a poor reaction.”

It seems that all it takes to annoy McInnes is to celebrate a goal against his Hearts team these days. That’s good to know when they come to Celtic Park after the top-six split.
