Wilfried Nancy enters Wednesday’s clash with Dundee United in desperate need of a result.
But any doubt that Nancy still holds the trust of the Celtic board has evaporated with the club’s latest ‘Club Update’.
Michael Nicholson has discussed the departure of Peter Lawwell, which was announced on Wednesday and will see him officially step down at the end of the year.
But Nicholson has also clarified his continued support for Nancy, despite the Frenchman’s unprecedented run of three defeats in his first three games.
And Celtic supporters are bound to be bewildered by some of the terms used by Nicholson in the update.
How will you remember Peter Lawwell’s time at Celtic?

Nancy took to social media on Tuesday night, seemingly to hit back at his critics with a venn diagram about the circle of control..
Despite the post intending to clarify that Nancy was unbothered, it’s fair to say that it hasn’t had the desired effect.

But Nicholson doesn’t seem concerned by that, and instead made sure to voice his support for Nancy’s Celtic ‘project’.
He told the Celtic social channels: “It’s not even two weeks ago that we said about Wilfried and his appointment.
“There’s never an easy time to start at Celtic, and it has been challenging. We’ve had some disappointing results, not least on Sunday.
“And in that respect, I understand that the Celtic support are concerned about where we are. I understand and I respect the right of every supporter to express their discontent and share that with us.
“But we know where we want to go, and step-by-step, that’s all of our jobs: to support Wilfried and his team to take us where we want to get to.
“The starting point is now. I met with Wilfried this week to discuss recruitment ahead of the January transfer window, and we’re also looking ahead to the summer transfer window.
“Because we know that we’ve got a project to support here, and we’re excited about where we want to go to, but that’s going to take time.
“Both day-to-day within the training environment, but also month-to-month, window-to-window, and we know that when we get to that stage in the summer – hopefully having had success this season – we’ll be looking forward to next season with great optimism with Wilfried and his team.”
