Celtic have enjoyed a successful partnership with Adidas.

Celtic first hooked up with the huge German kit supplier at the beginning of the 2020/21 season.

At the time the Adidas deal was announced as the biggest deal ever to have been signed in Scotland as Celtic flexed their muscles both on and off the park.

And now, current CEO Michael Nicholson has spoken as Celtic announce an extension to the current deal with Adidas as the Parkhead club continue their ‘fantastic partnership’ with the sportswear giant.

Celtic announce new kit deal extension with Adidas

On the morning where images of a ‘leaked’ Celtic home kit for next season appeared online, the timing of this new announcement couldn’t have been better.

Speaking about the contract extension, Nicholson hailed this as a ‘hugely significant announcement’ for Celtic as the CEO talked up the historic partnership with Adidas.

Nicholson told Celtic FC, “We are delighted to announce this extension to our fantastic partnership.

“We have enjoyed a hugely successful relationship with adidas, one of the world’s leading sports brands and an organisation of real quality and excellence.

“Now, to be able to further extend this great association really reflects the strength and stability of the Club and the power of our enduring relationship.

“This is a hugely significant announcement for Celtic, the biggest official kit supplier partnership in the club’s history and one we are sure will delight our supporters worldwide allowing us to look to the future together with confidence.”

How Adidas and Celtic have become a powerful partnership

Celtic and Adidas joined forces in 2020 in five-year deal reportedly worth around £25m for the Parkhead club.

At the time Celtic fans were buzzing about the link up and, to be fair, by and large the partnership has been hugely successful.

Demand outstripped supply of the first kit release under Adidas and since then fans have enjoyed sponsor-less strips, new retro training gear designs and a bold home kit that split opinion in 2023/24.

This deal is likely to give Celtic another huge financial injection and advantage over their rivals as the Parkhead club show their dominance both on and of the park.
