Celtic are in very good hands, both on and off the field, as they head towards another title.
You can’t have much to complain about this season. Other than Celtic’s heavy defeat in Dortmund and that Ibrox horror show, the rest has and is still going pretty well.
In truth, if you look at both of those results and performances, and then the reaction, it has been outstanding and the man in the dugout has played a huge part.
Brendan Rodgers returned to Celtic during the summer of 2023 when Ange Postecoglou departed for Tottenham Hotspur.
It was gut-wrenching to see Postecoglou leave because he had become a pretty popular man in Glasgow, but the Premier League came calling.
But the call to bring Rodgers in wasn’t perhaps top of everyone’s list.
Michael Stewart lauds ‘absolute standout’ Brendan Rodgers at Celtic
Given how Rodgers first left Celtic for Leicester City in 2019, then he always had a lot of winning over to do because there were still critics in the crowd.
Fast forward to the present and it’s fair to say those clouds have blown away, with the Bhoys on course for the Treble after securing the double last time out.
Michael Stewart hailed Rodgers for the work he has done since coming back and how he is an ‘absolute standout’, as he told BBC Radio Scotland.
Stewart also explained how, as Postecoglou was leaving for Spurs, he shouted that Rodgers was the obvious name to fill his shoes, even if others thought otherwise.
“He (Rodgers) is an absolute standout,” said Stewart. “I said it when Ange Postecoglou was going that there was only one guy they should have gone all out for and they did. Credit to them.
“Then last season, when things were a little shaky, in regards to it wasn’t certain what was going to happen with Celtic, that doesn’t change the fact that Brendan Rodgers is a top manager.
“Everything that has happened this season, just goes to cement that.”

Rodgers’ record at Celtic in his second spell
That’s three trophies already in the bag and plenty more are to come, as well as the club making improvements in the Champions League.
Just how well Celtic do, will all be revealed in the coming weeks, as European football returns on January 22 when they face Young Boys.
But overall, in his second spell in charge, Rodgers has only lost ten matches, which is pretty impressive, as posted by Transfermarkt.
