A lot of people are reacting to the press conference from Celtic manager Neil Lennon this afternoon.
I had a go myself, expressing my concern for he Bhoys boss and the club. Someone needs to step in and do the right thing here.
One of the most prominent media voices out there this season with regards to Celtic is Michael Stewart.
He’s all over BBC radio, Sportscene, Premier Sports and has even been used on Celtic’s Pass To Paradise service.
Lennon didn’t hold back his opinion on certain pundits today, so what are the media men saying about the manager’ angry comments?
Stewart took to Twitter, stating: “I’m absolutely sure Neil Lennon feels like he’s under attack but he is completely in the wrong to say everything that he did today, especially when another player has just tested positive. This sorry saga will continue to rumble on and hurt the club.
“On the back of all of this the apology seems extremely hollow as well. The new positive COVID just goes to show the absolute folly of international travel in the current climate.”
Neil Lennon is either losing control of the situation at Celtic or he’s attempting some grand siege mentality play in order to deflect from other issues at the club.
Neither is acceptable in my book.
His press conference was a hard watch today and it’s not something I want to see repeated.
If this is how it’s going to be from now until the end of the season then Stewart is right, this is all only going to damage Celtic further.
Surely high-ranking people at Celtic can now see this ongoing managerial spell is doing nobody any favours, least of all Lennon?
An important few days lie ahead. Hopefully Celtic can come out of it with some sort of hope.
