The Martin O’Neill effect at Celtic has been great to see as the team look back to their best under the legendary boss.

O’Neill’s Celtic return was a huge boost to the fans who had been watching their season slowly dissipate in front of their own eyes during Wilfried Nancy’s brief six-week tenure.

What was notable in Celtic’s win over Dundee United was the complete change in the team’s confidence and performance levels.

Celtic’s Unique Angle also caught the players’ tight-knit bond returning as the Bhoys smashed the Taysiders at Parkhead.

However, there is one Celtic star who Michael Stewart was buzzing about and what he noticed will delight the Hoops support.

Kieran Tierney’s ‘bombing’ Celtic performance has Michael Stewart buzzing

Kieran Tierney has had a bit of a stop/start season at Celtic as his fitness issues limited his ability to complete a full 90 minutes of football.

But against Dundee United, Stewart was raving about the Celtic defender with a statement that will have Celtic supporters buzzing.

Stewart said in the Scottish Football Club, “I thought Kieran Tierney was back to, you know, superb.

“What I mean is all those guys there’s the contrast between the Wilfried Nancy time and Martin O’Neill coming back. I get that.

“But for Kieran Tierney as well. Because all the other issues that have obviously surrounded his career and I just thought his performance against Dundee United was a little bit more reminiscent of Kieran Tierney of old.

“Looking athletic, bombing forward and setting up goals. I think the first two goals came from him.”

Stewart is loving Tierney’s Celtic resurgence ‘from a footballing perspective’

Stewart has no skin in the game when it comes to his opinion on Celtic players but the pundit is delighted to see Tierney’s performances improve as a lover of the game.

“And just from a footballing perspective,” Stewart continued, “It’s great to see Kieran Tierney looking like Kieran Tierney. And we can talk about the whole other dynamic of Martin O’Neill and Wilfried Nancy.

“Celtic, I said it before, the longer they left Nancy in charge, the more self-harm and the more difficult their position was going to be in regards to the league.

“Martin O’Neill coming back in is a huge positive.”
