Celtic fans are extremely unhappy with the Parkhead board and Michael Stewart clearly explains why this has happened.

For months now, Celtic supporters have displayed their dissatisfaction with the board and it appears the Parkhead protest against Stuttgart has brought everything to a head.

While some Celtic fans debate the merits of the protest, Stewart spells it out plainly and tells the Parkhead board exactly who is to blame for the long-running stand-off.

Stewart told BBC Sportsound, “It’s certainly not going to help, that’s for sure. It’s a consequence of the mistakes that have been made off the park.

“And I think the frustration from the supporters is a lot of it was, it was pretty predictable. I think most fans are of the same view that they’re not happy.

“Obviously there’s a difference in the way that a lot of them are reacting to it, but I think all of them, pretty much all of them, could have been accurate in their prediction of what was going to happen this season.

“And this is a consequence of poor work from off the park for everybody that’s involved at Celtic.

“And at Celtic, you’ve got to say that they have done pretty much everything they could to hamper that [success on the park].”

Stewart says Celtic fans won’t be happy until the board improve the team

While the protests still carry on with no end in sight, Stewart tells the board it’s fairly simple how to end them.

The BBC pundit continued, “And you see off the field incidents are going to hamper what’s happening on the park, quite possibly. But that’s where everything at this club, not and not just Celtic, at any club, nothing works in isolation.

“Success in the park breeds excitement and joy off the park, which then breeds a greater atmosphere on the park, you know, and vice versa.

“And until such time as the supporters start to feel like things are turning on the park, there’s going to be an underlying dissatisfaction with what’s going on at Celtic.

The Celtic board stance is on fan unrest is unclear

It seems that the Celtic board are giving mixed messages on resolving the issues with fans.

As chairman Brian Wilson claims he wants to hold talks and talks have taken place, the Collective have shown frustration at how these have gone.

With the Green Brigade still locked out with this title race wide open, no one really knows if there really is a desire from the board to end the stand-off.
