Celtic fans will all agree that the first-team squad is nowhere near the quality it should be.
The Celtic board has sold top talents like Nicolas Kuhn, Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah and failed to replace them with similar or better quality.
The mishandling of the Celtic first-team squad has enraged fans to the point that they want to see change at the very top of the club.
However, despite that, Celtic did make 11 signings this summer and Michael Stewart has picked out one, that if he got injured, would leave Brendan Rodgers in trouble.

Michael Stewart highlights Kelechi Iheanacho’s immediate impact at Celtic
Kelechi Iheanacho’s signing was viewed by many Celtic supporters as a panicked one after the business completed in the summer transfer window left the Hoops lacking in attacking options.
However, with two goals and an assist in his first four games, Iheanacho has proved his importance to Celtic as Stewart points out.
Stewart said on the Scottish Football Social Club [42m], “It’s that little lingering doubt in the mind of anybody associated with Celtic or watching them, that are they what we think they are?
“And they’ve got quality, and I do think they will find the rhythm pretty soon, but they’re thin.
“They’re thin on options, because Maeda is not performing the way you expect, and if Iheanacho got injured, they would be absolutely snookered, by the way.”
Kelechi Iheanacho’s immediate impact at Celtic
Iheanacho was once the hottest property in the English Premier League. Coming through the Man City academy, the Nigerian signed for Leicester City where he won an FA Cup and Community Shield under Brendan Rodgers.
After a failed move to Sevilla, Iheanacho joined Celtic this summer and his impact on Fotmob has been almost instantaneous:
- Appearances: 4
- Average rating: 7.05
- Goals: 2
- Assists: 1
- xG: 1.87
- Non-penalty xG: 1.08
- Average shots per game: 7.33
- Average shots on target per game: 2.09
It’s clear that Iheanacho’s attacking threat has been important to Celtic already this season as has his link-up play with the midfield.
If Rodgers can keep him fit, the 27-year-old will definitely be an asset to the Celtic front line but, if he does get injured, it does leave fans wondering who could come in and replace him.
