Celtic boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that Tom Rogic will be available for Wednesday’s game against St Mirren, the Sky Sports Scotland Twitter account reports.
Rogic has yet to kick a ball in anger for the Hoops this season, mostly due to a number of injuries. However, Lennon has disclosed that although Saturday’s game against Ross County is too soon for the player, he will be available for Wednesday trip to St Mirren.
“He’s trained today, he won’t be available for the squad for the weekend, but he’ll be available for Wednesday to play against St Mirren” Lennon said, as quoted by Sky Sports Scotland Twitter account.
Lennon seems delighted that Rogic is set to make his return.
“He’s a fantastic player”
“I think he’s a fantastic player…looking at his performances and the team’s performances when he’s played it’s been very positive” Lennon concluded.

Rogic’s return to the Celtic ranks will be a real boost to the Hoops support. He is a firm fans’ favourite, thanks to some memorable goals he has scored.
His return can only help a Celtic team who at times have found it difficult to get the ball in the back of the net. The games against Ferencvaros, Kilmarnock and Dundee United spring to mind.
Could have left the club in past week
However, the real bonus is that Rogic is even still at the club. The attacker was strongly linked with a move to Qatar in the last week. The Scottish Sun reported that a deal was set to go through for a fee of £3.75m.
However, Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph reported that the move fell through due to Rogic not agreeing personal terms.

Therefore, for the time being, Rogic remains a Celtic player. For how long that situation continues, who knows. Perhaps other teams may declare an interest in the Australian before the transfer window shuts.
For now though, Celtic fans should cherish the time that Rogic is at the club. It might not be for a long time. Let’s hope his return starts on Wednesday with a good performance against St Mirren.
In other news, some Celtic fans have shared memories of their favourite derby wins.
