Scott Sinclair’s absence from the Celtic squad will have raised a few eyebrows tonight.
Even though he’s on the periphery of things at Parkhead, he still more often than not is at least in the team-sheet. But for tonight’s 1-1 draw in Cluj, the former Manchester City man was nowhere to be seen.
It would be easy to just dismiss this due to injury. After all, these kinds of small knocks before a game can happen. But, apparently, it could be more than just that.

That’s after Hoops boss Lennon told the BBC pre-match (18:49) that interest has apparently come about for Sinky’s services. When asked about it, Lennon simply said the following:
“A bit of interest but nothing concrete at the minute, That might change in the next 24 hours.”
Sinclair’s absence seems ominous ahead of tomorrow’s deadline
A host of interesting happenings could occur tomorrow. But if Sinclair is still at Celtic Park in 48 hours it would perhaps be a bit of a surprise.
If there was just slight interest, that doesn’t make sense as to why he would miss out on a squad. There could be more than just that going on here.

Sinclair leaving would also seriously divide the Celtic supporters. Many didn’t want him to leave when he was linked with Preston last month. Despite that, it doesn’t look as though he has much of a future here anymore.
After all, the Englishman is now third choice at left-mid if you’re being kind to him. Both Mikey Johnston and Lewis Morgan are now ahead of him in the pecking order. It’s only right that Sinclair looks at other options ahead of the English window closing tomorrow night.
Things happen quickly in football. As of yet, however, there doesn’t appear to be any suggestion as to who it is that wants him.
Sinclair has been a sensational servant to Celtic. He was the top goalscorer of our treble-treble run. His potential departure from Parkhead will have a tinge of sadness to it, even if it does prove to be the right move.

It will be interesting to see what kind of fee we would get for his services too. Given he’s in the final year of his contract, it won’t be anything spectacular.
But we’ll see how things progress in the next 24 hours or so. Things can break down in football, but something feels inevitable regarding Sinclair’s departure.
