Neil Lennon has criticised Celtic captain Scott Brown after his sending off away to Livingston on Wednesday night.
Brown was trusted to come off the bench and add a bit of impetus to Celtic as the Bhoys chased a winner against David Martindale’s side.
However, he was sent off shortly after his introduction. A wayward arm struck Jaze Kabia and referee Willie Collum wasted no time in issuing a straight red card.
Lennon told The Daily Record after the match: “It’s disappointing. He should know better. It was totally unnecessary. I’m told it’s a red. Ill discipline has cost us.
“We got ourselves in a good position. Poor goal to concede. It was symptomatic of us. Our reaction was fantastic in the second half. We were on front foot. Then the first attack they score from again and defensively we have to be better.
“Seven draws have really hampered us. The conditions were difficult, but we should have been good enough. We can’t keep dropping points. We’ve only lost two games and draws have been from winning positions. We’ve been scoring enough goals, but we conceded two very poor goals.”

It really feels like the end of an era at Celtic.
At this point, Lennon’s position as manager is untenable and Brown’s future at the club is just as uncertain.
Both of them leaving the club by the end of the season would be a surprise to nobody.
Brown’s contract expires this summer and his regression in midfield this season has been one of the big problems on the pitch.
That he would be sent off in such an ill-disciplined manner, letting Lennon, Celtic and the fans down, is not the fairytale ending anyone would have hoped for.
Whoever is in charge of the Bhoys moving forward must persist with Ismaila Soro, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull in the middle of the park.
Brown’s legacy at Celtic is intact and he will be remembered fondly in the years to come. However, it’ll do nobody any good for him to get many more appearances this season.
