Celtic have a number of quality players in their ranks.
From the goalkeeper in Kasper Schmeichel to Daizen Maeda up front, every position in the Celtic first-team is dripping with quality.
That is mainly due to the work done by Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers over the last four years as both Celtic managers scoured the world for the most affordable talent the Parkhead club could get.
However, it was a player who emerged during Neil Lennon’s tenure at the club that the now Dunfermline boss has urged his players to look at as inspiration of what can be achieved if they work hard at the game.
And he didn’t cost the club a single penny.

Neil Lennon tells Dunfermline to look at ‘wonderful’ James Forrest at Celtic
Lennon was appointed as the permanent Dunfermline boss just over a week ago after a successful temporary spell in charge at the end of last season.
And here, the Celtic icon has shared how his players only need to look at James Forrest for the inspiration they need to reach the very top in football.
Lennon told The Sunday Post, “What James has done has been wonderful. I’m so proud of him.
“You couldn’t write a better story when he got the last-minute goal against St Mirren to maintain his run of scoring every season.
“What a player. He is one of the most exciting attacking talents Celtic have had for forever really.
“He would drive at you from the left, he’d drive at you from the right and his finishing has always been top-class, with both feet.”
Celtic icon Neil Lennon’s message ‘to the young players at Dunfermline’
Forrest is now Celtic’s most decorated player of all time. Lennon was the man who handed him his big breakthrough at the club back in 2010.
And now, 15 years later, the ex-Celtic boss has shared just how much he rates him and what he tells his young Dunfermline players about him.
“I managed him twice and he always delivered,” continued Lennon, “I loved him. I loved watching him play because he was different.
“He wanted to take people on. That was his remit when he was younger. I said, ‘I want you to run at people,’ and he was brilliant at it, able to do defenders from a standing position with the wee electric change of pace.
“He has married consistency to his talent to give himself a mega career.
“You get a buzz out of that. I can say to the young players at Dunfermline, this is what you can achieve if you really put your mind to it, look after yourself and protect your talent.
Now 33, Forrest is into the final year of his contract at Celtic and it is not known yet if that stay will be extended by a further 12 months.
With at least one more season left in him, the tricky winger will be keen to add to the 26 major domestic honours he already has to his name next year.
