Former Celtic Neil Lennon will attempt to roll back the years and produce a bit of European football magic tonight when his Omonoia Nicosia side takes on Manchester United in Cyprus.

Lennon’s team superbly qualified for the UEFA Europa League group stages and are also up against Sheriff and Real Sociedad in a difficult four-team section.

The glamour tie is undoubtedly facing off against Erik ten Hag’s side, who are continuing a rebuilding process and looking to the Europa League as an opportunity to build momentum.

Manchester United take Neil Lennon’s side seriously

Ten Hag isn’t underestimating the Cypriot outfit, which also includes former Celts Adam Matthews and Gary Hooper in their ranks.

He’s named a star-studded United eleven tonight that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, amongst others.

They’re certainly showing respect to Lennon’s team, perhaps knowing that the former Celtic boss has a decent history of European upsets – most famously against Barcelona in 2012.

Omonoia do need a strong result this evening to keep their Europa League hopes alive after two defeats from their opening two matches.

A draw or a win tonight could at least bring them back into contention for a third-placed spot that would parachute them into the Europa Conference League.

With kick-off only an hour away, you can tune in on BT Sport 1 if you want to see how the match pans out! Best of luck Neil!
