Celtic defender Moritz Jenz spoke of his joy after a dream debut saw him score a dramatic late winner for the Hoops against Ross County in Dingwall yesterday.
The champions took the lead shortly after half-time after Kyogo Furuhashi swept home Jota’s pinpoint pass, but were pegged back by Ross County’s equaliser on the hour and despite Jenz’s header in the 84th minute, couldn’t be sure of the points until Liel Abada’s clincher in injury time
As reported by Football Scotland, Jenz said: “It was amazing to play my first game in front of a fantastic away crowd. Then to score was like a dream come true. We knew at 1-1 we had to win the game so I wanted to get in there and score the goal. In the end, it happened.

“You always hope to get on the end of the ball and I timed it well. I showed real desire to score the goal.
“Of course, you must have a good relationship with the fans because they back you up even in difficult moments. Today was difficult, we were pushed to the end, and they helped us.
“It was incredible to celebrate with them at the goal. I’ve always wanted to score in a British game and run into the crowd. There’s no stopping, you just run in with your emotions. It was amazing. It took some time to get out but I did.”
The German also spoke on the competition he faces to remain in the team, with Carl Starfelt returning to the bench after after missing all of pre-season with an injury sustained on international duty with Sweden.
Jenz said: “I need to continue to train hard and if I get the chance to play give my best. We all push each other to reach the highest level possible.
“It’s a team game. I’ll keep pushing and the coach will decide who plays. I’m looking forward to keep playing like that. I want to be confident and consistent this season.”

Jenz was added to the starting line-up against the Staggies after Stephen Welsh’s withdrawal through illness and the German took full advantage of his opportunity.
Starfelt’s return from injury will further competition for places, with four centre halves all vying for two starting spots, although Cameron Carter-Vickers seems to have nailed down one of these.
It’s a welcome problem for Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou ahead of the Bhoys visit to Rugby Park next weekend, with the champions’ title defence rapidly gathering pace.
