Nicolas Kuhn was king earlier this season where every shot he took seemed to find the net.
The German was on course to fight for an international spot under Julian Nagelsmann and his stats have certainly propelled Celtic up the Scottish Premiership table and helped boost their Champions League credentials.
In recent weeks, however, Kuhn has taken a back seat to Celtic player of the year shoo-in Daizen Maeda who has really carried the club on his back at times. And for teammate Kuhn it has come at the expense of his own tremendous form.
His numbers have dipped and in big games he has been substituted including against Rangers for Yang who has acted like a super-sub in important moments.
For fans it has been a strange dip for Kuhn and former Aberdeen and St Johnstone defender Richard Foster believes the wide man is “over-trying” in attack.

Richard Foster has told Kuhn how to recapture his Celtic form
Speaking from a full-back’s perspective, Foster has watched Kuhn plenty of times this term and spotted what the playmaker is doing that may not quite be working right now.
And he has suggested where the 25-year-old might be able to fix his game and recapture his form.
“For me Kuhn has been excellent all season but in the last three or four games he has been over trying at times,” Foster said on GO Radio.
“When it is not on to beat the player, you have to come back inside and look to go out the other side. Wait until you are in that position where you are one on one and can drive at the full back.
“I don’t know the particular reason for it, but he needs to get back on it Because Celtic still have a lot to play for this season.”
Kuhn’s Celtic form has taken a dip while others have thrived
Kuhn has hit 18 goals and provided 13 assists this campaign so far and, like Foster says, still has plenty to play for and lots of time to do it in.
And the ex-defender – now working as a coach at Motherwell – has urged Kuhn to get back to basics and simplify his game to benefit the team once again.
“With wingers, Nicolas Kuhn’s job in the Celtic team is to score goals and be creative. He will largely give the ball away more than you’d expect a Callum McGregor or even an Alistair Johnston would do in those positions.
“What a lot of wingers fall foul of is they maybe don’t beat the defender one vs one. So next time it is two vs one so they try and beat both.
“Then they don’t win that and the next time becomes more complicated and more complicated. If you are not getting success, simplify your game until you build your confidence back.
“We all know Nicolas Kuhn can go past one, two, three players and score fantastic goals as we have seen him do it. John is probably right, he is probably trying to hard and complicating his game instead of simplifying it.”
