Wilfried Nancy is expected to be named the new Celtic manager any day now.
The Frenchman’s arrival has been delayed somewhat as Martin O’Neill continues Celtic duties for the game against Dundee tomorrow night.
Nancy has a reputation as one of the best, if not the best, coaches in the MLS and it seems that Celtic are getting one of the top managers in the game.
That’s according to former England star Nigel Reo-Coker, who says he’s seen Nancy ‘do his thing’ in a superb message to Celtic.

Celtic-bound Wilfried Nancy plays the ‘best English/European style of football’ in the MLS
Many people have scoffed at the potential appointment of Nancy as the new Celtic manager because he hails from the MLS and is a relatively unknown manager.
However, Reo-Coker is having none of it as he talks up the incoming Celtic boss.
Reo-Coker said on talkSPORT USA, “I think the coaching has got better now, the players have got better, and the standard has kind of risen, and there’s some really good coaches and managers there.
“And recently I talked about Wilfried Nancy and maybe him being linked to the Celtic job. And I’ve seen him do his thing.
“People don’t realise he’s French. He was linked to going back to Ligue 1, and his team, Columbus Crew, play the best English/European style of football in the league.”
Reo-Coker says Wilfried Nancy is brilliant at ‘developing players’
One thing that Celtic fans love is seeing players developing at the club and Academy youngsters coming through the system.
Well, they are going to love Nancy then as Reo-Coker continues, “But he’s a very good coach and manager. He also develops players, which is something that’s gone out of the game.
“In our generation, managers and coaches will pull you aside to say, ‘To be the best, you have to do this, you have to do this’ and work with these players to get better.
“But the modern game has changed so much now that they’ve got so many coaches, but still, the good managers are able to develop these players and get the best out of them in the right moment.”
‘He also develops players, which is something that’s gone out the game.’
With Hearts up as Nancy’s potential first fixture as the new Celtic manager, the Frenchman will get a warm welcome from the Parkhead support.
And if he is half as good as Reo-Coker is telling people, Celtic might just have uncovered one of the most highly-rated managers in America.
