Scott Sinclair’s video on social media certainly attracted the right kind of attention from supporters last month.
The winger posted a video on Instagram that showed him working in isolation at Lennoxtown. This was during the September international break, with a lack of game-time this season threatening to ruin his campaign.
Nobody really knows what Sinclair’s motives behind publishing the video was. Whether it was to gain fan support or just to show his daily-routine remains up for debate.
However, if it was the former, it worked in spades. Fans were right behind him as they backed him to win his spot back. For someone who was the highest-scorer during our treble-treble run, it was bemusing to some why he wasn’t being selected more often.
There’s still been no improvement in Sinclair’s situation
Since the video was posted, Sinclair has only been given 30 minutes of football. Those precious minutes came at Easter Road when we were in desperate nick and trying to find a winner, and Parkhead in a Betfred Cup cameo against Partick Thistle.

Sinclair did manage to bag against Partick, but it didn’t lead to an improvement in game-time. Since the video, as well as his appearances, he’s still managed to be a part of four further matchday squads. But even though he’s been getting the chance to be a part of squads, it hasn’t led to proper game-time.
At the moment, Sinclair has real quality ahead of him in Mohamed Elyounoussi. With Mikey Johnston sidelined, Sinclair has still struggled to break into the team.
Neil Lennon has been continuously selecting the Norwegian in Johnston’s absence. Sinclair, meanwhile, continues to just be an afterthought.
He’ll have an eye on the winter break as his big chance to shine and make an impression on Lenny. But considering he’s out of contract at the end of the campaign, things haven’t taken a positive upturn for the former Manchester City man.

Like it or not, Sinclair is going to have to ask himself the question of what’s best for him. Should he look for a move in January? Or is he going to fight for his place and continue to wait on opportunities?
It’s anyone’s guess at the moment. But has Sinclair got the reaction from the manager he might’ve liked for his video? The simple answer is no.
