Read MoreNo nonsense Greg Taylor expertly bats away media's 'all the pressure on Celtic' question
Today I learned that Celtic defender Greg Taylor takes no nonsense in press conferences.
The left-back was in fine form when facing the press and fan media outlets today, confidently talking up the resolve and attitude of his teammates ahead of Sunday’s clash against Ross County.
Indeed, when it was put to him that “all the pressure” is on Celtic this weekend at Dingwall, Taylor gave a great answer.
He said: “No, there’s always pressure for a footballer. There’ll be pressure on Ross County – who’s to say that they can’t push on for a European place? There’s always pressure.
“It’s the same for us. That’s the pressure that footballers are meant to enjoy. It’s one we try to aim to enjoy. We understand it’s a big occasion on Sunday because it’s the next game. It’ll be no different.”
The word pressure seemed to be a bit of a theme at today’s press conference both with the player and his manager Ange Postecoglou.
The new Champions League format & what it will mean for Celtic
But it seems a pretty silly concept to me that they’re suddenly under the cosh when realistically there has been no room for error all season.
There’s really no evidence to support the theory that this team will wilt now, in such a strong position at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Last week’s defeat to Rangers in the Scottish Cup was a blow but a six-point lead heading into the final five games is commanding stuff.
If Celtic play as we know they can, they’ll get the job done. I don’t think their mentality should be in doubt.
