Celtic will hope to translate their positive league start to Premier Sports Cup duty as they take on Hibernian this Sunday.
Last season, Brendan Rodgers’ men bowed out in the Second Round against Kilmarnock, so there will be added motivation for the Irishman to avoid a repeat this year at Celtic Park. Kicking off the campaign convincingly, the Bhoys have seen off Kilmarnock and Hibernian in convincing fashion without conceding.
The visitors come into this one after losing their opening two league matches. They won three from four Premier Sports Cup group stage games, but a loss to Kelty Hearts put them on the unseeded side of the draw where Celtic came out of the hat.
With their coverage of cup action reaching new heights, Premier Sports 1 will broadcast the affair live from Glasgow’s east end.
Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. All the other ties will be available over the weekend via their streaming service. Meanwhile, Rangers vs St Johnstone will also be televised on Saturday.

Excitement is building ahead of the second instalment of Celtic and Hibernian’s double-header. Now, officials and VAR have been confirmed ahead of the contest.
Officials confirmed for Celtic’s home tie against Hibernian
Kevin Clancy has been appointed as the man with the whistle at Celtic Park. The 40-year-old will be assisted by Frank Connor and Steven Traynor, who are charged with running the lines [Scottish FA].
On VAR duty, Andrew Dallas is in the hot seat as the main operative for this one. John McCrossan is also on hand to review any contentious decisions. The fourth official for the tie hasn’t yet been named; we will bring confirmation to your attention as soon as it arises.
Tickets for the clash have now entered the general sale phase, allowing Celtic supporters to attend in person and watch the Bhoys in action if they so wish.
They can be accessed by clicking the link here and are priced at £25 for adults, £17 for concessions and £12 for Under-13s.
On Sunday, a place in the quarter-final of the Premier Sports Cup is on the line. With Celtic targeting further silverware this campaign, hopefully, progression to the next round can be secured on home soil. Hail Hail!
