Tony Bloom believes Hearts can split Celtic and Rangers this season.
The Tynecastle man invested almost £10m into Hearts as Brighton owner Bloom looks to challenge Celtic’s domination and pip Rangers to second place in the Scottish Premiership.
That statement was welcomed by many Celtic supporters who have been looking for another club in Scotland to provide competition in all domestic competitions.
And while Celtic hero Peter Grant welcomes the challenge, the former Hoops midfield enforcer also sends Bloom a message about Hearts’ ambitious plan to take on the Glasgow clubs.

Peter Grant tells Hearts’ Tony Bloom challenging Celtic is ‘harder’ than he thinks
Bloom has been a bit of fresh air for Scottish football and it is refreshing to see the Hearts man aiming high to look to challenge Celtic.
However, Grant has told him it’s not as easy as he may think as he points out how Celtic have made winning silverware look easy.
Grant told The Go Radio Football Show, “Well, going with Tony Bloom, he thinks that they’re going to split Celtic Rangers, or win it within the next, whatever, 10 years, is it?
“You should find that’s a little bit harder in Scotland, to be perfectly honest with you. But I understand what you’re saying, and if he’s not got that belief, why would you put the money in?
“So you understand that.”
Tony Bloom told Celtic ‘are the best team’ in Scotland
Whilst Grant welcomes the challenge to Celtic, the former Hoops man sends Hearts a warning that winning silverware isn’t as easy as the Parkhead club makes it look.
Grant continued, “And the one thing I’ll say about Hearts, I’ve been impressed with what they do. You know, Milne, I think, has been excellent at left wing back, he’s been fantastic at crosses, I’m sure Laurence Shankland will be looking at it, thinking great.
“But over the piece, Celtic have got the best team, but a cup tie, anything can happen in a cup tie.
“But that’s why I always say when people talk about the treble and Celtic, it’s so, so difficult.
“It’s hard enough to win the league, but you get another chance if you lose a game. In the cup, you’re out.
“Double-winning year, I keep getting back to it. I think Stranraer nearly put us out. We had a replay with Hibs.
“Everybody forgets it. We’re the centenary team, because we won the double. The double-winning team, because people forget that.
“But the cup is so difficult to win because if you have an off day and somebody has a good day, that can cost you.
“But Celtic are the best team, and I agree with Richard. I think they’ll get stronger.”
Personally, we at 67 Hail Hail hope that Hearts do put up a better fight in the domestic competitions because that can only push Celtic to be better.
However, it’s going to take a lot more than the initial £10m Bloom has invested to get closer not just to Celtic, but Rangers as well as last season’s league table positions proved.
