Lots of photos and videos have been circulating of Celtic fans celebrating and partying on the streets of Glasgow yesterday, but some of the best were posted on social media late last night.
Thousands of supporters spilt out of Paradise and congregated in the Trongate and Merchant City area of the city, singing songs, providing plenty of colour and spectacle – as well as enjoying a few refreshments. It’s become customary in recent years as fans enjoy a period of unprecedented domestic success. The Bhoys could win their fifth treble in six years next week, having secured 11 of the last 12 league titles available.
Popular Celtic bar Grace’s have uploaded a video to social media showing the full scale of the party yesterday, with the drone footage proving popular across Facebook, TikTok and Twitter, racking up thousands of views.
It could be just the start of an exciting seven days for everyone involved with the club.
As mentioned, there’s a treble to play for at Hampden next Saturday, while the Celtic FC Women side faces off against Rangers in the Scottish Women’s Cup Final at the national stadium later today. With the youth team already securing the Scottish Youth Cup, it could be a truly special campaign at all levels of the club.
The chance of more street celebrations in the wake of facing Inverness Caledonian Thistle are strong, even if not quite at the level of yesterday’s scenes. A congregation at Celtic Park to welcome the team home would be inevitable if a treble is secured.
It sets us up very nicely for a long summer without the Bhoys in action. Pre-season will come around before we know it, while there’s the prospect of significant transfer business occurring in the meantime.
With a tour of Japan and South Korea also planned, there’s plenty to look forward to even when we do have to say goodbye to the team for a bit.
