The Celtic board are under some serious pressure this season.
More protests were held against the Celtic board at the weekend before the Premier Sports Cup win over Partick Thistle.
Banners and posters with photos of Peter Lawwell, Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay were held aloft by the Celtic support accompanied with songs of ‘All Celtic fans against the board’ as moves to force change at the club stepped up.
And now, with the Europa League coming up for Celtic, former goalkeeper Pat Bonner has shared what he says the Parkhead board will be hoping to happen in order to take some of the pressure off them this week.

Pat Bonner says the Celtic board will be praying for a Europa League win vs Red Star Belgrade
Celtic travel to Belgrade to take on Red Star this week on matchday one of the Europa League and Bonner believes the board will be praying for a win not to see the club get off to a winning start, but simply to take the pressure off them.
Bonner said on The Scottish Football Podcast [17m], “The European games, I think, will have a big telling on both teams.
“You know, I’m sure the Celtic directors are hoping that Celtic could go and get a result against Red Star and take that pressure right off them, because, listen, they’ve seen a player coming in and making a huge difference, so that player’s been brought in.
“And, but if it goes against them again, people start asking that question, why did you not spend money?
“And the usual thing goes on for another couple of weeks. Get a result, it changes the whole narrative. They’re all hard games in European competition, that’s for sure.”
Pat Bonner is wrong, the Celtic board will not be let off easy
While a Celtic win in Belgrade is most welcome, this fan action of the board is not going away easily.
67 Hail Hail is part of the new fan group the Celtic Fan Collective and new members from fan media across the country are being added daily.
The momentum that is growing in this group and with all the signatories of the open letter three weeks ago is huge.
And while every single member of the fan action groups will all be hoping for a Celtic win this weekend, that will not take the focus away from the job at hand.
Permanent change at Celtic board level.
