Celtic comfortably dispatched of Dundee United this afternoon in Scottish Premiership action.
The Hoops had the lead through Callum McGregor before Jota doubled his side’s tally and then a ripper from Adam Idah sealed the points.
It was a satisfying 3-0 Celtic win that takes the club’s lead at the top of the division to 16 points with rivals Rangers still to play their game against Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow.
Defensively it was a convincing performance with momentum building again towards the clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League next week and was just about what was needed for the confidence levels after the 2-1 reverse defeat last Wednesday evening.
For Pat Nevin watching during his BBC Sportsound punditry duties, he explained how had Auston Trusty scored a late fourth it would have been harsh on the visitors who had put in a shift.
And he explained how the Tangerines’ best opportunities came from LAZINESS from Kasper Schmeichel.
The Hoops goalkeeper was nonchalant at times and Nevin felt that was dangerous for the league leaders.

Kasper Schmeichel was described as ‘lazy’ for Celtic vs Dundee Utd
“It would’ve been harsh on Dundee United with the workrate they’ve had and they’ve had a much better second-half without creating much,” Nevin said.
“D’you know, arguably the best chances Dundee United have had is Kasper Schmeichel has looked a bit lazy with his passing.
“He’s taken a few chances and just about got away with it.
“I would suggest he doesn’t do that against Bayern Munich.”

Schmeichel has been fantastic for Celts this season so far.
The Dane made a number of clean saves vs Bayern Munich last week to keep the scoreline down.
And another clean sheet this afternoon at Parkhead brought his tally up.
So to describe Schmeichel as “lazy” is a bit of a stretch.
Schmeichel faced only two shots on target this afternoon but kept them out.
Another clean sheet next week in the Allianz Arena would be lovely.
