Celtic succumbed to their second defeat of the season at Hibs.
Daizen Maeda thought he had levelled the game but VAR had different ideas as Celtic’s equaliser was ruled out after the video referee deemed the ball had crossed Hibs’ byline just before Alistair Johnston teed up his teammate.
The decision enraged Celtic boss as Brendan Rodgers questioned whether or not VAR has definitive proof that the whole ball had left the field of play.
However, Pat Nevin was on commentary duty for the BBC and he spotted what the linesman did just before the goal that could indicate that VAR got their decision wrong.

Pat Nevin spotted the linesman changing his mind at Celtic goal vs Hibs
Nevin was caught up in the excitement of the game when he caught the linesman’s actions just before the goal was scored.
Nevin told BBC Sportsound, “They [VAR] might be checking other parts of it, not just the ball out of play. Once again, it’s tight, it’s inches.
“This game has got everything, hasn’t it? We can get that wrong from here, from a distance, it wasn’t too far out of play
” But you just see a right away during the commentary, that’s out.
“To be fair, I actually think he [the linesman] went to raise his flag and then he put it back down again.”
This indicates that the assistant referee believed part of the ball was in play which makes the need for VAR to get involved even more baffling.
Celtic’s next Scottish Premiership fixtures before big Glasgow Derby vs Rangers
Celtic are due to play Rangers on the 16th of March but before then, Brendan Rodgers has two Scottish Premiership to negotiate before then.
Next up is Aberdeen at Celtic Park on Tuesday night where the Dons come full of confidence after a late, late win over Kilmarnock yesterday afternoon.
Then it’s a tricky trip to St Mirren to face Stephen Robinson’s side who will be buoyed by their win over Rangers at Ibrox.
Celtic will be confident of heading into the big Glasgow Derby clash with their 13 point lead over Rangers intact, if not increased which will tee up an interesting clash with under-pressure Philippe Clement’s side.
