Celtic striker Patryk Klimala has disclosed that he would like to make more starts for the Hoops, but he will never complain about the situation to the manager, the Celtic View reports.
Klimala has started once for Celtic this season, against St Mirren. However, he has regularly been involved for the Hoops off the bench this season, and has scored two goals.
Klimala knows that with Odsonne Edouard Celtic’s number one striker playing time is going to be limited. However, he is not going to start complaining about the situation.
“It’s the manager’s decision”
“It’s the manager’s decision who plays and the only way I can influence that decision is through hard work” Klimala said, as quoted by the Celtic View (Volume 56, Issue 9, Page 21).
“I’ll never complain about the situation. If I’m on the bench I am not as happy as I would be on the pitch but I’ll never complain about that” Klimala concluded.
That is an ideal attitude for Klimala to have. He could easily sulk and be annoyed about his lack of playing time. That doesn’t seem to be his style, though.
Manager seems to be impressed
Instead, he seems to be working hard to impress Neil Lennon, and so far it seems to be working out to an extent. Okay, he probably won’t ever be first choice striker. However, it is noticeable that the Hoops boss continued to give the player chances, and not loan him out.
For Klimala to get more chances, he will have to make the most of the appearances he has made for the Hoops. He didn’t perform great against St Mirren. However, he did well against Hamilton and Ross County.
It was impressive against Ross County how he didn’t let his head go down after missing a good chance. He got up, dusted himself down, and scored soon after.
Will Patryk Klimala go down as one of Celtic’s best ever strikers? Probably not. However, his attitude towards not playing will get him high marks from his manager and teammates.
In other news, Scott Allen will miss Celtic’s match against Hibs on Sunday.
