What a deal Celtic have managed to pull off despite the disappointment of Kyogo Furuhashi joining Rennes.
Jota returned to Celtic, not long after he moved to the Saudi Pro League for £25 million, and now he is back in Glasgow for less than half of that price.
It further proves Celtic’s outstanding recruitment and how nobody else in Scotland can touch the champions because they are the best in class.
Jota will need time to settle in because he hardly played for Rennes – only ten appearances in total – but he has a strong and familiar dressing room of players around him.
In some cases, from captain Callum McGregor to left-back Greg Taylor, the man first signed by Ange Postecoglou, has reunited with some old friends.
But, in the case of Paulo Bernardo, is resuming a friendship and linking up with his Portuguese teammate in Celtic colours.
Paulo Bernardo reacts to Jota’s return to Celtic
Jota is already training with Celtic, but you don’t expect him to start the Champions League trip to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, nor the clash against Motherwell at the weekend.
But Bernardo is excited to see Jota return and he labelled the versatile forward as a ‘great player’, as he told Celtic TV in his pre-match press conference for the Villa match.
Bernardo explained that he told his fellow countryman that if he needed anything, then ‘I can help’ because, when the midfielder first came to Celtic, Jota sent him a similar message.

“I think he is a great player,” said Bernardo. “I am really excited to play with him. I think he brings a lot to the group. He’s a great player, a great person and I am really excited to play with him.
Bernardo was reminded that when he signed for Celtic, he said that he was ‘messaging Jota’ and if it was ‘the other way around now’.
The Celtic midfielder responded: “No, because I think he knew it before. I just said to him if he needs something now, then I can help. Before, he told me that if I need something, I could count on him.”
Watch Jota’s 15 goals during his final season at Celtic
The quicker Jota can get his engine going, the better it is for Brendan Rodgers and Celtic because that forward line will be electric.
Before Jota headed for the Celtic exit doors, he netted 15 goals in his final season for the champions and there is no reason why he can’t hit those heights again.
And for the Celtic fans to revisit some of Jota’s best moments, and what is to come, then sit back and enjoy some of his best goals from that final campaign, as posted by Celtic TV.
