Celtic has a number of sellable assets.

However, the player-trading model has not just helped off the park, it’s been essential for Celtic’s success on it.

One player who has been central to those successes has, apparently, been spoken about by Italian Serie A giants, Inter Milan, and it has ‘delighted’ Celtic hero, Peter Grant.

Peter Grant ‘delighted’ at Inter Milan interest in Celtic’s Alistair Johnston

According to The Scottish Sun, reports from Italy have claimed that Inter are interested in Alistair Johnston, and Grant explains why he is delighted to hear the Hoops hero’s name mentioned in the same breath as the Italian giants.

Grant told The Go Radio Football Show [4m 30s], “He’s obviously an intelligent player who learns from his weaknesses and makes them better. And I’ve been really, really impressed with him. So it doesn’t surprise me at all.

“Because he’s been playing against the best teams and he’s performed against them. And that’s how you’re always judged, is against the best players.

“How do you perform? And I don’t think he’s let himself down at all this season. So I’m delighted in the respect of other people like Inter Milan talking about your players because it means they’re doing well.

“That never worries me. You worry about it when people are not talking about your players. Because that means there’s no interest in not playing well enough.

“We see the problems Rangers have had for a few years now in making £800,000, I think it was. Celtic are getting reserve players going for three million pounds. And that is the difference.”
