PFA Scotland share how Celtic outperform Rangers in goalscoring since the Scottish Premiership was formed

Celtic have enjoyed near total domination over Rangers for the last 25 years.

Since the turn of the century, Celtic have racked up treble after treble, a second nine-in-a-row and an unbeaten domestic clean sweep.

The success on the pitch is unrivalled by any other team in the country. And that is down to, in part, the quality of Celtic’s first-team squad over the years.

However, since the Scottish Premiership was formed in 2013, PFA Scotland has shared how Celtic’s goal scorers have outperformed Rangers’ which has helped the Parkhead club keep the Ibrox club at bay over the years.

Celtic have four players in the Scottish Premiership all-time top goalscorers

Celtic have won all but one Scottish Premiership title since the new league was formed in 2013.

In helping with that, the Parkhead club have four players in the all-time top goalscorers in the Premiership compared to Rangers just having just two.

Leigh Griffiths tops the charts with 92 goals split between Celtic and Dundee. Even without the goals for the Tayside club, Griffiths’ 89 goals for the Hoops would still have him top of the tree.

Next up is Odsonne Edouard in 4th place on 66 goals with Kyogo Furuhashi 7th with 63 and the legendary James Forrest in equal 9th place with 59.

Where Leigh Griffiths ranks to Henrik Larsson in Celtic’s goalscoring charts

Henrik Larsson is Celtic’s top goal scorer in the club’s recent history with 242 goals with only Bobby Lennox (301) and Jimmy McGrory (502) ahead of him.

Leigh Griffiths however, scored an impressive 123 goals for Celtic, making him the club’s second-top marksman behind Larsson since the year 2000.

Currently plying his trade in Australia with Stirling Macedonia FC, Griffiths will be looking to add to the 239 career goals he already has to his name over his career.
