There’s a big match on at Celtic Park this evening as the women’s side take on Glasgow City.
Celtic fans have turned out in their thousands for the SWPL fixture with the club promising a club record crowd earlier in the day. (Celtic)
Most of those in attendance have opted to sit in the Jock Stein Stand after a call from various fans groups to get ‘The Celtic End’ going for the fixture.

It is all part of a larger campaign to make the entire stand a safe standing place for first-team matches at Celtic Park.
As you can see in the above image, it’s quite a sight to see the ultras groups together and united at one end of the ground.
Celtic have led the way with safe standing in Britain, and the area has been a massive hit with supporters since its implementation in 2016.
The atmosphere has been boosted significantly for all matches and that can only aid the team.
That is being felt at Celtic Park this evening with Fran Alonso’s side being backed loud and proud from the start.
There are plenty of obstacles to be overcome before ‘The Celtic End’ can become a regular occurance.

A number of people have valid concerns about the campaign that should be listened to.
But anyone at Celtic Park tonight will surely now be in favour of the move.
Hopefully it’s not the last time we see the glorious sight of ‘The Celtic End’.
