The Green Brigade marked their return to the standing section at Celtic Park with a large display in dedication to manager Ange Postecoglou before Bodo/Glimt.

It was undoubtedly a lively European atmosphere again at Paradise this evening. A close to sell-out crowd packed into Celtic Park early to cheer on the Bhoys and give a rousing reception to the pitch.

A light show and music ramped up the excitement before the usual UEFA ceremony.

When both sides emerged, the standing section in the North Curve was covered in a display that made it clear just how much supporters have taken to Postecoglou since he arrived last summer.

Celtic disappointing vs Bodo/Glimt so far

Unfortunately, at half-time, the Celtic performance hasn’t quite lived up to the noise and colour we witnessed pre-match.

It was Bodo/Glimt who took advantage of an end-to-end start in Glasgow with Runar Espejord prodding home a smart finish past Joe Hart after slack Celtic defending.

There’s a long way to go in this tie, never mind tonight, so Celtic are still very much in it. However. We have to up the intensity and quality to the kind of levels we witnessed in the derby against Rangers.

A lot has been said about Celtic’s participation in the Europa Conference League with regards to whether it should be taken seriously or not.

The support made their feelings clear tonight with a big crowd and Postecoglou sent out a full-strength team with intent.

We have to live up to that billing and make a mark in this competition, starting in the second half.

In other news, Celtic supporters show their class by helping out ‘stranded’ Bodo/Glimt travellers.
