Cameron Carter-Vickers will be back for Celtic this weekend, according to a report.
The central-defender surprisingly sat out our weekend win over Kilmarnock, with Ange Postecoglou playing down fears after the match.
Carter-Vickers is widely understood to be nursing some sort of injury at present, and yesterday we shared news about him potentially going for surgery before the end of the season.
The feeling seems to be that Carter-Vickers will battle through the next couple of matches, including next weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers, before undergoing surgery.
That train of thought has been backed up by friend of 67 Hail Hail, Larry Henry Jr.
The SBI Soccer reporter is understood to have links to the CCV camp, and shared some information on Thursday afternoon.
Henry Jr tweeted: “Cameron Carter-Vickers is expected back for Celtic this weekend, per a source close to the player.
“Carter-Vickers has been grinding it out for Celtic during second half of season and hoping to get through Scottish Cup semi-final next weekend.”
So it seems very much like the American has been battling injury troubles in recent months.
Surgery seems like a possibility but we are unlikely to hear more until after the Hampden clash against our rivals.
The promising news is that it seems like he will be fit and ready to go this weekend against Motherwell.
It will be interesting to see if he plays the entirety of this weekend’s match, and how he gets on.
