Celtic are now focusing attention on signing a striker during the January transfer window after the arrival of Nicolas Kuhn.
Many names have been mentioned and discussions have taken place as to what type of striker Brendan Rodgers should bring in.
Clyde 1 pundit and Scottish journalist Roger Hannah discussed Celtic possibly signing QPR and Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes instead of in-form Hearts hitman, Lawrence Shankland.
The pundit highlighted how Lyndon Dykes has ‘risen to every challenge’ that has been put on the table during his career, as he told Clyde 1.
But, when it comes to profile and his stature, you don’t expect Brendan Rodgers and Co. to push for a player who has faired well for Steve Clarke at Scotland.
The 28-year-old has only played 28 Scottish Premiership matches during his career, scoring 11 goals and supplying 8 assists.
But when Lydon Dykes was discussed instead of the recently-talked-about Lawrence Shankland, this is what Hannah had to say.
Lyndon Dykes or Lawrence Shankland
“I saw him recently scoring a consolation for QPR,” said Hannah. “A good player. He has been an excellent Scotland centre-forward.
“Far, far better than any of us expected him to be when he first declared for Scotland ahead of Australia. He is doing well at QPR. Risen to every challenge in his career so far.
“I hadn’t really considered him as a potential Celtic signing. But you never know.”

A striker to dethrone Kyogo Furuhashi
The simple fact of the matter is a striker needs to come in who can dethrone Kyogo Furuhashi from the starting spot.
If he has the CV to do so, then it would be utterly brilliant, even though those types of players are very hard to find.
And if his CV doesn’t state it, then his potential should allow him to do it down the line because Kyogo is the difference-maker in this league.
It will be interesting to see if Rodgers doesn’t get the type of striker he wants if he remains patient and waits until the summer because that would also be a better option.
