Rangers duo could face SFA ban for daft behaviour in the Celtic Park Glasgow Derby

Celtic’s defeat to Rangers in the Glasgow Derby passed without relative incident on the park.

With no refereeing controversies dominating the headlines in the third Glasgow Derby of the season, Celtic’s defeat to the Ibrox club was marred by Vaclav Cerny’s nonsense as he celebrated Rangers’ third goal.

The midfielder raced along the touchline and sprayed the Celtic supporters with water in an act of sheer stupidity that caused much anger in the stands.

And now, it seems the consequences of Cerny’s actions could now come back and bite him with the Rangers midfielder facing an SFA probe for his Celtic Park antics.

Dujon Sterling could also be punished for his conduct on social media where he made an X-rated Instagram post about Parkhead after the win over Celtic.

Vaclav Cerny could face eight-game ban for Celtic Park nonsense

The Daily Record reports that both Rangers players face an SFA investigation after Cerny and Sterling’s embarrassing conduct in the Parkhead win.

The report states that Cerny could face a ban of between two and eight games if found guilty of bringing the game into disrepute after spraying the Celtic family section with water.

Sterling’s conduct on social media could also be rapped after the SFA has previously taken action against players whose conduct on social media platforms has been deemed as offensive.

It’s not known what type of punishment the Ibrox defender could face.

Both Celtic and Rangers are set to avoid punishment for Hoops fans throwing missiles at the end of the match and the travelling Ibrox support setting off illegal pyrotechnics in the away end.

Brendan Rodgers needs to address second-best Celtic vs Rangers

For the third game in a row, Celtic have conceded three goals against a Rangers side who have struggled to score against the likes of Queen’s Park and St Mirren this season.

With the quality of players Celtic have at their disposal in defence, this should be a worry for the Celtic manager, especially after losing at Parkhead for the first time in five years.

Whilst the destination of the league title is still heading towards the Parkhead trophy cabinet, fans will have plenty to celebrate come the end of the season.

But that doesn’t take away from the fact that over the last three Glasgow Derby’s, Rangers seem to have found an effective system to play against Celtic and Rodgers doesn’t appear to have answers for it.
